Breakaways & Big Saves...
Sunday, January 28th, 2007

Click to watch videoIt was a game of breakaways and big saves. Our players had numerous breakaways while playing against the East End Wings. One of which we score on. As for the play in our end of the rink, a bunch of our goalies made key saves stopping some of the best players on the opposing team. It just goes to show that the players are getting better and better with each passing game. There are two videos worth sharing this week. Right-click on the video links and select "Save Target As..." and save the video onto your desktop. Video 1 and Video 2

It doesn't matter...
Sunday, January 14th, 2007

Click to watch videoIt doesn't matter that we didn't score. It doesn't matter that the play was in our end the entire game. It doesn't even matter that the coach of the opposing team would intentionally dump the puck into his own teams end just to make it a bit more fair. All that matters is that when the kids come off the ice, they are happy and had a great time.

Back from Holidays and Back in Action...
Sunday, January 7th, 2007

The first game of the new year had turned out to be an exciting matchup between the Blues and the Park City Tiger Cats. Although I personally wasn't able to attend the game, I did hear that the Blues played their hearts out and was able to smack quite a few into the back of the net. Way to go team!

It's Almost Christmas...
Saturday, December 16th, 2006

Click to watch videoI am not entirely sure which excuse to use...was the rink weighted down on our side forcing the puck to stay in our end or was it because the ice was a bit too slippery on the other side? Regardless of how you want to put it, the Blues had a tough time trying to get the puck out of their own end. The game was still as intense as each other week but, we just couldn't get a break. I know what it was...it's almost Christmas! Who wants to worry about goals when they can worry about gifts?

Fast Paced Hockey...
Sunday, December 10th, 2006

Click to watch videoThis was the 2nd time the Blues played the Park City Wild Cats. Our first game playing against them was a bit slow as it was our first game of the season and some of the players weren't sure what to do. This past Sunday's game was a completely different story. Our players have become faster and have become smarter with hockey sense. It was great to see how their skating has progressed over the past seven weeks. We play the Wild Cats again on February 10th, 2007, just think of how much better the Blues will be then! Click here or click on the image on the right to view a short video from the game.

Exciting Hockey...
Suday, December 3rd, 2006

Watching the Action...There is no better way to spend a Sunday morning than at the rink. Blues fans were in full force as we got to watch an exciting game against the East End Wings. The play was equally at both ends of the rink, Blues goaltending was at it's best (by the way, yes he did stop this shot) and our forwards skated harder than we have seen all season. It was a ton of fun to watch, I am sure it was even more fun on the ice. Great Game!

Too Many Men on the Ice...
Saturday, November 25th, 2006

Too Many Men on the Ice...This was a tough game. The Park City Bob Cats came out hard scoring 4 goals in the first three minutes. Personally I think that the other Bob Cats' players were a bit older than the Blues and had more experience too. None the less, the coaches made it fun by passing the puck to the Blues' players throughout the game. With 6 minutes left in the game the coaches agreed to send out the troops and had every player from both teams hit the ice. That was fun to watch. Talk about too many men on the ice!

Hat Trick + 2...
Sunday, November 19th, 2006

Great Save!Friends and family may have been cold sitting in the bleachers of rink two at East End Arena on Sunday morning, but the Blue sure weren't. Especially Cole (#6). Cole's team assisted him in 5 goals. Two of which came on a single 3 minute shift. As for our goaltending, some of the players are learning that in order to stop the puck, you have to drop to the ice. We saw a few saves made by goalies who had dropped to the ice even before the puck made it across the red line. Better to be safe than sorry. Great game!

A Hard Fought Battle...
Sunday, November 12th, 2006

This past Sunday (Nov. 12th) the Blues played the Park City West Tiger Cats. The Blues took the lead with 3 quick goals. All of our goaltenders were outstanding. One show stopper was #5 who scrambled to stop 4 consecutive shots by the Tiger Cats. Another honorable mention was Keanan who won 3 out of 4 faceoffs during a single shift. Excellent game by all!

Go Blues Go!
